PC ISA ARINC 429 CARD
Part Numbers: YED/PC720
General features
The PC720 PC interface card is
used for testing, simulating and monitoring of serial bus systems in
accordance with ARINC-429. The PC720 ARINC-429 interface is a half sized PC
card which has one transmitter and one receiver channel. The card
contains an on-board microprocessor and a dual port memory employed for
interfacing to the PC. The transmit channel functions as a Bus Traffic
Simulator and the receive channel provides for advanced Real Time Data
Monitoring and Analyzer modes of operation. Data can be captured
and stored to the PC's hard disk for later analysis.
Transmit Operation
In simulation mode, the PC720
executes autonomously instructions held in the dual port memory and will
perform cyclic and one-shot modes of transmission. Label repetition rates and
minor frame rates are completely controlled at the board level, which
significantly reduces the host PC overhead. The inter-message gaps are
programmable in 4-bit periods up to 252 bits.
Receive
Operation
The receive functions provide for
comprehensive Bus Monitoring and Data Acquisition. Using the DOS Analyzer
software data is time tagged and Data Acquisition can be triggered upon the
occurrence of a specified condition. Extensive post analysis functions provide
for Label filtering, time filtering and changing data only displays.
Menu
software
DOS software can be supplied that will enable
the user to define the ARINC-429 data for transmission and reception. Data can
be entered and displayed in binary, hexadecimal or user defined engineering
units format. The engineering formats supported are; Signed binary, Unsigned
binary, 2's Compliment, Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) and Discrete flag data. The
Menu software supplied will allow the user to achieve the application
objective. However, for those special applications, a 'C' or PASCAL driver
library is available.
All units are designed to meet the European and
US EMC regulations.
