General Features
The PC-MAXI (Multi - Adapter - eXtender - Interface) provides by far the most
flexible platform for demanding test and OEM applications. The card
features a common clock for all time tagging registration of data and single
generation of PC interrupts from the various modules fitted to the card. It provides
a common master platform for all types of databus interface that need
to be connected to the PC ISA bus.
The card is a full length PC ISA interface card designed to accept up to four
standard YED Mini-Module Interface cards. Support for ARINC419/429/575, PANAVIA,
NMEA0183 and opto-coupled discrete I/O is currently available. For example, the
card shown is a 8 transmit and 8 receive independent (non-multiplexed) ARINC 429
(16) channels. Special interface application modules can be
designed to order.
The card is supplied with 'C' driver library source code.
Interface Configurations and Functional Characteristics
The PC-MAXI has four module sites available. It can support
either similar or different interface types. For example, it is possible to have an
ARINC 429 2 transmit, 2 receive Mini-Module mounted on one site and a PANAVIA
Mini-Module mounted on a second site, thus providing a mixed ARINC 429 and
PANAVIA
solution on a single card.
A common clock is available to all Mini-Modules, thus providing synchronised
operation of features such as time tag registers. Interrupts generated by each
Mini-Module are handled by the on card Interrupt Control Logic, which in turn,
is responsible for generating the PC interrupt. An Interrupt Status Register
identifies the interrupting Module.
The card is configured as a 16 bit ISA interface and occupies the 0xD0000 to
0xDFFFF PC Memory page space. Interrupts provided are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11 and
12.
