NMEA 0183 to ARINC 429
(RS232/RS422)
This NMEA 0183 to ARINC 429 converter is in use by many companies who have a requirement to extract navigational data from a standard NMEA 0183 data stream and translate it onto the ARINC 429 data bus.
The ARINC 429 labels to be transmitted and the ARINC 429 bus rates should be specified by you when requesting a quote: please click on the 'In Detail' tab above for more information.
Compatible with IFF Mode 5 Level 2.

NMEA 0183 to ARINC 429 Detail
The labels to be converted should be specified by you when requesting a quote.
The typical labels processed by this converter are shown in the table below.
The NMEA0183 to ARINC 429 converter is powered from an external 28 VDC (18-72V ) nominal supply with internal current and thermal (150 ºC) fuse. The power inputs are also reverse polarity protected.
The ASCII serial input data conforms to the NMEA0183 standard and can be supplied as either RS232 or RS422 (NOT both). The default received baud rate is 4800. Other baud rates are available to order.
Examples a typical input strings are shown below:

- Each line begins with a '$' and ends with a CrLf (0x0D, 0x0A) characters.
- The ',' comma delimiters are used to separate each particular field.
- i.e. Third field is Latitude, fourth field is 'N' or 'S' indicator, etc.
- Each line is received at the set Baud Rate and at a repetition of once per second.
